The Right Color For 1970s Furniture
Roger,
I was born without the gene to make a house a home. I have a dark red plaid sofa and a dark blue recliner....both early 70's Ethan Allen. Curtains are dark red. Right now, the walls are a light peach. Yuk. Suggestions please for wall colors?

Eddie,
You're in luck. 70's decor is considered hip again! Two colors could work in a room with furniture that you just described: Burnt Orange and Chocolate Brown. You could even use both, limiting one of the two as an accent wall. These colors might sound scary but trust me, playing it safe by using neutrals or lighter colors will only make your furniture look out of place.
Be sure to send back photos to let us see how it turned out!
